Magic Minute Snakes Alive!
MAGIC MINUTE // Ever been staring at one of those illusory pictures till something leaps out at you in 3D?
Well, that’s what happened to me in Western Australia’s Yanchep Crystal Cave.
While admiring a big stalagmite a 6ft tiger snake morphed from the structure into my view, beady eyes and all.
“Hey, there’s a big snake wrapped around that rock!” I cried out.
“Nah, just your eyes playing tricks with all the different colors and lighting,” our guide said.
But I persisted.
“It’s a real snake! Right there’s its eyes!”
He ventured forward for a closer look.
“Hey, you’re right! Must have come down through the cracks.” As if this was quite normal.
We quickly backtracked to the exit leaving our lethargic friend to find his own way out.
Certainly added a bit of excitement to the day.
