Magic Minute Couched In Caring
MAGIC MINUTE // “On her way to the front door, Cheryl tripped and fell headfirst in the hallway, her face covered in blood and unable to move.
“Stay where you are, Mum!” said Callum, her concerned removalist son. “I know exactly what to do. I’m lifting furniture all day, and with a couch, you got to be especially careful so you don’t hurt it.”
Which he caringly proceeded to do with his arms gently under and around her, then settling his mum in a comfy armchair to recover and assess if she was okay.
Luckily, Cheryl was more shocked than really hurt.
Later, she reflected, “I don’t know about the idea of being compared to a couch, but when something’s said in the moment and from the heart, it sounds just right.
I’m Laurie Smale… Till my next Magic Minute. 🪄
