Magic Minute 3-Year-Old’s Logic
MAGIC MINUTE // Ever been stung by the logic of a three-year-old?
Well, we were sitting at the breakfast table when one of my little kids started spreading their Wheaties all over their face and making funny growly noises.
“What are you doing?” I said. “Eat your breakfast properly with your spoon like Mommy and Daddy.”
“Oh this has been going on for the last couple of days!” My wife said, which egged them on to do it again.
“Stop it!” I said “You’re making such a mess that mommy has to clean it all up.”
And this little person just looked at me and said, “Cookie Monster does it.”
Trying to keep a straight face I said, “Well it might be all right for Cookie Monster, but you can’t do it!”
Now we love the wonders of Sesame Street, but that day we had to contend with Cookie Monster’s questionable table manners and the indisputable logic of a three-year-old!
