Magic Minute Tropical Fruit Salad
MAGIC MINUTE // I was 15 and temptation got the better of me for I was surrounded by a stack of something I’d die for – canned tropical fruit salad.
I’d just won $50 in Tatts and thought “Hey, I could buy a whole carton of 36 cans!”
The warehouse guy gave me a box at half price and I was soon wheeling this precious cargo on my bike to stash under my bed in my rooming house.
I wasted no time greedily scoffing down a can without it hitting the sides.
It was absolute heaven!
And I did the same for lunch, then dinner and breakfast the following morning!… and on it went.
But by day three I could barely look at the stuff.
