MAGIC MINUTE // Judged By Others – A distraught Peter told me, “Even in our boardroom meetings today, I still see those unforgiving faces glaring back at me year after painful year.”

Little Peter had been forced to recite classical poetry every Sunday before stony face traditionalists steeped fast in their culture and woe betide him if he got anything wrong.

I said, “Peter, they’re probably all dead! It’s time to send your unforgiving tormentors back to their historical time slot where they belong and can harm you no more.”

And that’s how Peter set himself free. From the safety of hindsight, he now comfortably accepts his imperfections and can enjoy the company of those he’s speaking to.
