MAGIC MINUTE // A concerned 9-year-old Cyndy came home from school and said to her grandma, “Sally told me that Santa isn’t real.”
Her grandmother explained that the sharing of Christmas is very real and Santa’s goodwill represents this.
But not wholly convinced, Cyndy did what any clear-thinking nine-year-old girl would do; she Googled it!
Now out there in the North Pole ether the spirit of Christmas must have got back to her for she’s seems quite satisfied with the outcome.
In fact during Christmas we heard her say, “When I used to believe in Santa…” but there was no sadness in her voice for she now sees the sheer Joy of little children when Santa arrives, just as grownups do.
So with the help of Google, Cyndy’s transition from Santa to the spirit of Christmas was very smooth indeed.
