Magic Minute All That Glitters
MAGIC MINUTE // Ever been enticed by something irresistibly beautiful?
I was around 8 years old and totally entranced by a large golden orange fish casually swimming in a pond as part of the Kannonook Creek, recently flushed and replenished by a massive pump from Port Philip Bay.
The water was now a crystal clear blue.
The sand was white.
And the sun was shimmering on the fish’s scales.
All was well with the world for me and my magnificent fish.
I gently cupped my hands beneath it as it meandered by.
Then it happened!
It suddenly became an angry ball of poisonous spikes which painfully got me in the hands.
I screamed and ran.
All that glitters can be anything but gold.
