Magic Minute A Dream Come True

MAGIC MINUTE // “Don’t let go!” 10-year-old Sienna yelled as I ran alongside her bike holding on for dear life!

I was soon tired out and had to take a breather, but Sienna wanted to keep going.

‘There’s got to be an easier way to do this,’ I thought.

A cyclist friend later revealed the secret to my woes.

“The problem is she’s trying to concentrate on everything at once.

Take the pedals off her bike with her feet reaching the ground and first get her to step-balance herself along, freewheel with her feet up, and use her brakes.

Then replace the pedals and the pedaling will come naturally to her.

And that’s exactly what happened.

In two life-changing lessons, Sienna’s dream of riding a bike had come true.
