MAGIC MINUTE // ‘Conversation Magic’ – Hi I’m Laurie Smale

Ever been enriched by a chance conversation with a total stranger?

Well enjoying their meal, Joe and Nicky fell into friendly conversation with a solitary man seated near them and pretty soon they were drawn into his moving story as a lost and lonely Nepalese refugee to becoming a co-owner of the very cafe they were sitting in.

When it came time to leave, and touched by their genuine interest in his journey, this kindly man said, “Can I offer you another coffee, for you both have very warm hearts?”

Deeply moved they accepted this kind gesture, savoring the moment a little longer. Then a heartfelt goodbye, with everyone the richer for this brief, yet magic encounter.
