MAGIC MINUTE // ‘Christmas Magic’ Hi I’m Laurie Smale
It was Christmas.
We opened the door and all stood there incredulous for there wasn’t a lot of joy in our home at the time.
My wife’s Multiple Sclerosis was worsening, my business was floundering, mortgage rates 18%, kids school fees, mounting debts, cupboards almost bear, but that night, magic happened.
A monster Christmas hamper, chock full of wonderful foods and goodies stood tall on the table.
No card, no name.
We can only wonder who the kind person might have been.
But it’s what they did that mattered.
This generous act of kindness brought a wave of festive joy to our struggling family, whose hope had all but gone.
