Magic Minute A Student Teacher’s Heroism
MAGIC MINUTE // Our young student teacher had just settled her class of preschoolers down for a nice story in the shelter shed of the Donald Primary School when an enraged bull appeared before us, snorting drooling and pawing the ground.
We little preppies screamed in horror and huddled into our panic-stricken teacher.
Very agitated the raging beast fixed its menacing red eyes on us, bellowed wildly and headed our way.
Then a guy galloped past on a horse yelling out, “Over here!” and fired his rifle.
The bull stopped.
Then charged the shed’s corner post causing the roof to partly collapse.
Our brave young teacher saw her chance.
“Come on!” she cried, and shepherded her traumatized little ones to safety.
In my mind, an unforgettable hero.
