Magic Minute A Cat’s Nine Lives

MAGIC MINUTE // When we saw the bloody mess of our 10-year-old cat’s face, Cherry, our hearts sank.

“That’s some cat fight!” I thought.

As she was able to move around and eat we made her a nice bed and nursed her as best we could.

The following day a neighbor was telling me, “I’ve just been to the vet because a fox savaged our cat’s face'”

“What? How do you know it was a fox?”

“Oh the vet said this is not unusual. Our urban foxes will attack cats if they get half the chance.”

Then it dawned on me… ‘A fox attacked my cherry too, but it must have come off second best because she’d survived.’

This epic battle probably cost Cherry her nine lives.

And here she is with her scars to prove it!

She now sleeps inside where she’s safe.
